Celebrating pride in Greater Moncton

It’s time to show off your pride in Greater Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick.

River of Pride festivities got underway on Friday with a flag-raising at Moncton City Hall.

Spokesperson Felix St. Onge says new additions this year include Eat with Pride.

“A few restaurants around Greater Moncton or Southeast New Brunswick who are participating by having an article in their menu that helps promote diversity, so it’s colourful.”

This year’s Pride parade will be held on August 31.

“Fifty different floats, and after that we have the market with sixty different kiosks and we have Priyanka, the first Drag Queen who won Canada’s Drag Race doing a concert. Then we’ll finish the night off with fireworks,” St. Onge says.

A full list of activities can be found on the River of Pride social media.
