Emergency Operations Centre Tightens Municipal Safety Measures

Moncton city council has been provided with an update on the Emergency Operations Centre.

Fire Chief Conrad Landry says while there is a supply of personal protective equipment, they are looking to stock up for the long term.

“Essential services are still operating, from fire, police, ambulance, governance like we’re doing tonight, Codiac Transpo, water, utilities, garbage, payment, payroll, etc,” he says.

Landry says they’ve closed all their facilities to the public and asking those who do to answer the four on-site self-assessment questions.

He says these measures are especially strict for firefighters who are more exposed, they must use a designated door and there is an decontamination room.
