Fire damages Barnes Street business in Dieppe

A Dieppe business has been damaged by fire.

Firefighters received the call at around 1 am Tuesday and found flames in the back of the Barnes Street building.

Dieppe Fire Deputy Chief Julien Boudreau says they quickly got it under control, but remained on the scene for over two hours.

Boudreau says no one was inside when they arrived.

Around 17 firefighters assisted with the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

There’s significant damage to the back of the building, along with smoke and water damage inside.
