Shelters and soup kitchens in the community are making changes to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Karing Kitchen is still offering hot lunches, but they will no longer be sit down meals. Instead, they will be offering a boxed lunch at the door for those who need it.

Harvest House Atlantic says it is now closed to the General community and are focusing on the roughly 34 people who are staying there overnight, as well as 55 others who are a part of the addiction rehab centre.

House of Nazareth shelter is currently near capacity with almost 100 people Executive Director Jean Dube says they are taking steps when people come to the shelter to ensure they do not have any symptoms of the coronavirus and they are limiting movement outside of the shelter.
