Canada’s takes bronze for first ever fencing Olympic medal

History has been made for Canada at the Paris Olympics.

Eleanor Harvey, 29, won bronze in fencing Sunday afternoon against Italy’s Alice Volpi.

It is the first fencing medal, ever for Canada.

The final score was 15-12.

This is the second medal won at the Paris Olympics so far for Canada, Summer McIntosh secured a silver in the 400m-freestyle, Saturday afternoon.
