Photographer Helps Women To Love Themselves

Fifty women of all ages, recently stepped out of their comfort zone, for the fourth annual Embrace Your Body event.

Photographer Lise Mazerolle hosted the event that encourages women to feel good about themselves no matter what size they are.

Rachelle Cormier has lost 96 pounds since having gastric bypass surgery. In celebration of that, she is one of the 50 women who took part in this year’s photo session.

“At the beginning, I never really knew what to think or what to say when I got there. After awhile, I really felt comfortable being there with all of the other women. It was really interesting to see all of the women embrace themselves and love their bodies.”

Lise Mazerolle says she considers every stretch mark, cellulite and scars to be art and when the women come together for this event, they feel comfortable with each other.

“It’ s all about self-esteem. You want to love yourself. It is nice for women to know that there are other struggling with body issues as well.”

Cormier says, “I encourage everyone to do it, whether you’re a different size or not. It doesn’t matter.”

The fifty women were all photographed wearing black bras and underwear.

As a part of the event, Mazerolle raised $1000 for the Boreal Center for children and teenagers victims of sexual assault.
