Beware Of Counterfeit Bills Circulating In Moncton

A warning from RCMP about counterfeit money being circulated in Moncton.

Over the past six weeks, police have received 31 reports of counterfeit $10, $20, $50 and $100 bills being used at stores.

They say some of the bills may have come from banks.

You can identify the bills by a few markings including, some are poor quality and are made of a different material.

They also have differences in sizes and shapes, and have five black, double bars on both sides of the bills.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation into counterfeit bills in the Moncton area is asked to contact the Codiac Regional RCMP at 506-857-2400. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.crimenb.ca.
