Riverview Fire acts quickly to prevent spread of balcony fire

A quick reaction by firefighters helped prevent the spread of a balcony fire at 727 Coverdale Road.

Riverview Fire and Rescue Deputy Chief John Malloy says the small fire started early Friday morning on the third floor of a four-storey apartment building.

The fire was quickly put out using pressurized water extinguishers before it spread to the apartments.

Moncton Fire assisted on the scene along with Ambulance NB, Codiac RCMP and NB Power.

No one was hurt.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
