Significant Snowfall Over Southern N.B.

A significant amount of snow is falling across Southern New Brunswick today.

Environment Canada meteorologist Jason Sheppard says the Greater Moncton area is expected to get up to 25 cm.

“We’ve got anywhere from 4 to 6, possibly 7 centimeters in the Moncton area right now and we’re looking for the heaviest snow to continue through the rest of the morning and in the afternoon,” he says.

Sheppard says things should start to taper off around supper time with slight accumulation overnight.

He says while winds won’t be the worst the region has experienced at 50 to 60 km/h, it could cause reduced visibility when combined with the snow.

Motorists are advised to slow down as some areas may be quite slippery.
