The Canadian Cancer Society is applauding the federal government for its proposed regulations that will restrict e-cigarette advertising.
They were introduced last week by the Federal Health Minister, and will ban the advertising, with the exception of areas where youth do not have access.
Senior Policy Analyst Rob Cunningham says e-cigarette advertising has contributed to an increase in youth vaping and these restrictions will protect youth from tobacco marketing strategies.
Recent statistics from a Canadian Student Tobacco, Alcohol and Drugs Survey found e-cigarette use amongst students in grade 10 through 12 has doubled this year, when compared to the previous one.
