With little time to go until Christmas Day, you may be still be looking at ways of giving back.
Founder of the Humanity Project Charlie Burrell says helping the homeless and others who are less fortunate is very gratifying, “Give your time. That alone, can make the biggest difference in someone’s life. Your time is worth more than anything. To come in and help serve a meal, or sit down and talk with someone and spend twenty minutes to to let them know they are important and you are listening to them. Just knowing that someone is there to listen and care for them.”
Many of the individuals who use the services of the Humanity Project, and other shelters and soup kitchens in the city, don’t have any family and friends to spend Christmas with.
“To give your time to any organization and become involved in your community, is probably the most important and most needed thing,” Burrell says.
There are a number of organizations in Greater Moncton where you can donate your time.
