UPDATE: Sue Stultz and Moncton Firefighters Turkey Drive Reaches Goal!

They made it!

It certainly was a busy spot down back at the St. George Blvd. fire station today.

On the last day for the Sue Stultz and Moncton firefighters turkey drive, they reached and surpassed this year’s goal of 4,175 turkeys.

Moncton firefighter Christopher Jackson says a lot of large donations have come in, “Today is a big day for companies and corporations whose teams have raised funds in one way or another at the offices, and they make sizeable donations.”

Jackson has spent the last few days down at Turkey Central. He says it is heartwarming to see the families who have made the turkey drive an annual tradition, “We see the kids year after year, growing and getting taller. They make it a family tradition which is really nice.”

“It’s also really heartwarming to hear from people who have used the program in the past or who have received turkeys in the food boxes at Christmas, and they’re back in to return the favour down the line,” Jackson says.
