Extreme heat affecting area schools

Some students attending Francophone South schools will not be in class on Thursday due to the weather conditions.

The district made the decision to close most of its schools today because of the conditions, with the exception of Régionale de Baie–Sainte-Anne and Sainte-Anne in Fredericton and Samuel-de-Champlain in Saint John.

Anglophone South students will be going home two hours early on Thursday.

Anglophone East School District students will also be released from class earlier than usual due to the extreme heat.

A letter went home to parents yesterday stating that out of an abundance of care and caution, a decision was made to dismiss students early.

Each school has slightly different dismissal times due to transportation schedules.

All school and graduation celebrations will go ahead unless otherwise indicated.
