Controversial Advertisement On City Bus

Codiac Transpo is looking onto having a controversial ad removed from one of their buses.

Nicole Doiron posted a photo of an Ad for the Anglophone Rights Association of New Brunswick to her Facebook page on Saturday.

It reads “Do you feel the implementation of Bilingualism has gone too far”.

Doiron spotted the ad while driving behind the bus on Cannaught avenue and says she thought it was a joke.

The City of Moncton addressed the ad in a Facebook post and says it does not follow their position on bilingualism.

Codiac Transpo has already reached out to the company in charge of advertisements to have them removed.

City of Moncton spokesperson Isabelle LeBlanc says discussions will take place with the company’s manager.

Although Codiac Transpo, Moncton, Dieppe and Riverview are not part of the content approval process, it is required that advertising be respectful toward everyone in the community.
