Snowflake Campaign Ensures Every Child Has Something Under The Tree For Christmas

Over 1000 children are expected to receive toys and other items from What Kids Need Moncton this year.

Their program called the Snowflake Campaign ensures that every child has something under their tree at Christmas.

Founder Amanda Pooley says the number of children in needs grows every year, “I would absolutely say the numbers have gone up. At first we were going up with Snowflake Station by around 50 children a year, but in the past few years, we’ve seen an increase of around 200 a year.”

Pooley says they aim to give each child a toy, book, hat, scarf and mitts, “This is given to each child who registers. Last year, we had 971 children who received items from us.”

Pooley says they rely on donations to made this program a success, “We do have a lot of second hand toys already, except for the ages 7 to 12 years old. That is where we are lacking.”

If you are in need of toys for your child this Christmas, you can register until December 1st.
