Route 133 Bridge Closed Indefinitely

The Kouchibouguac River Bridge Number 1 on Route 133 between Shediac and Cap-Pele will be closed indefinitely.

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure says the closure is due to deterioration on the bridge that was discovered after a recent inspection.

Detour signage is in place to re-route traffic through Route 15.

Kouchibouguac River Bridge Number 1 was closed following damage from Hurricane Dorian in early September.

The hurricane also damaged a culvert on Highway 126 north of Moncton which remains closed for repairs.

DTI expects that section of road likely won’t reopen until November 30.
