Local High Schools ‘Tackle Hunger’

The Harison Trimble Trojans beat the Bernice MacNaughton Higlanders during Friday’s homecoming game, but both teams were winners.

Both schools collected a combined total 25 hundred pounds of food as part of the Purolator Tackle Hunger Challenge.

This is the third year the food bank has challenged local high schools.

Food Depot Alimentaire president Dale Hicks says they announced the winner of the challenge during their homecoming game.

“Last year Trimble brought in the bulk of that, ironically this year MacNaughton turned the tables on them and they brought in the majority of food donations so it sets it up for a good rubber match next year,” says Hicks.

Purolator also contributed money and cereal and additional donations were collected at the door on game night.

All proceeds are donated to the Peter McKee Food Bank.
