Three Additional Locations With Potential Exposure To Measles Case

The Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health is advising the public of three additional locations where residents may have been exposed to a case of the measles.

The individual was working in Greater Moncton before flying to Montreal, where they were diagnosed.

The additional locations are the Pita Pit or the McDonald’s which are both on Dieppe Boulevard, or in an Air Cab taxi, on September 19th.

A previous alert noted the affected individual visited the Dieppe Holiday Inn Express and Suites, and the Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport.

The measles virus is transmitted through the air or by direct contact with an infected person.

If you have been exposed, you may already have symptoms, or they may develop between now and October 11.

Anyone who was at these locations during these times and feel they have symptoms consistent with measles should isolate themselves by staying home and avoid all contact with anyone who has not been immunized.

Call your health-care provider or 811 before visiting a clinic or hospital to ensure precautions are in place to protect other patients.
