A rally is being held in Moncton for Brady Francis, a young man who died in a hit and run incident last year.
Hundreds are expected to gather outside City Hall tomorrow to demand ‘Justice for Brady’.
This is the second rally of its kind in Moncton and is meant to remind people of the tragedy, ahead of the case’s next court date.
The suspect is set to return to court in January.
Patty Quinn, who helps organize the rallies, says the family is being denied an English translator for the trial.
She says the defendant has chosen to be tried in French, which none of the victim’s family members speak.
“It’s not acceptable to have somebody sitting beside them whispering in their ear what is being said, that’s not appropriate. We need translation and we want simultaneous translation while the court proceedings are happening,” Quinn says.
Quinn says they were told that wouldn’t be possible but says a legal council is looking into the issue.
She asks anyone who cares about the issue to come show their support by attending the rally from 11 to 3.
