Dieppe Firefighters Battle Blaze In Storage Building

Dieppe Fire were back at a storage building on Champlain Street in Lakeburn this morning, after reports of a fire.

District Chief Marc Cormier says when they arrived on scene at around 9:30, smoke could be seen coming from the building, “It is a vacant property under security surveillance, and there were staff on scene. They reported the fire.”

Cormier says they were able to contain the flames to one room, and they were quickly extinguished.

The building is the the former home of MP Atlantic Wood, otherwise known as Lakeburn Lumber.

Cormier says there was a fire at the same location around four or five months ago.

He adds the fire is not considered to be suspicious at this time, but there is no word on a cause yet.
