The Tri-Community Terry Fox Run is happening tomorrow on the Riverfront Trail system.
Spokesperson, Aloma Jardine says this year’s run is more important than ever.
Jardine says they the federal government will be investing 150 million dollars to create the Marathon Of Hope Cancer Network.
She adds that the Terry Fox Foundation will be partnering with the network to help match the funding.
That means a total investment of 300 million into cancer research over the next five years.
When asked why she thinks people still participate in the long-running event, she said “Terry Fox himself is just such a compelling person. To run a marathon a day for 143 days in a row on one leg. And I think the other reason is I doubt you can go anywhere and not find anyone who has been affected by cancer in some way.”
You can register for the run tomorrow at noon in the Event Zone on Assomption Boulevard. The Run begins at 1 p.m.
