Calling All Riverview artists!

The town of Riverview is inviting local artists to submit their work for the 2019 Art Procurement Program.

Pieces acquired last year are currently hung inside Riverview Town Hall’s Council Chambers.

Paulette Tingley, Riverview community coordinator, says this is an effort to promote and support local artists.

There are a few requirements. For example, applicants must be a Riverview resident for at least one year.

Participants must also fill out a form and submissions must be framed and ready to hang.

Each artist is permitted to submit up to three pieces.

The citizen-led jury will then select and purchase a number of pieces on the Town’s behalf to be displayed in local public buildings.

Following acquisition, pieces may also be relocated to other Town-owned public buildings.

They are also looking at featuring the artists and their work online through their website.

All submissions must delivered to the Town’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Relations by September 11th.

You can find more information on the program here.
