Rocky Horror Show Coming To The Empress Theatre

Do you remember doing the time warp?

The Capitol Theatre is giving you the opportunity to go back and experience it again.

Director Marshall Button says the Rocky Horror Show will be performed over two weeks in their Empress Theatre, which holds around 135 people.

It’s a similar setting to the original production, “It was in a venue that seated about 80 people above a restaurant in London. Our Empress seats around 135 people or so. I had always been enamoured with the show and the weirdness and certainly the music.”

Button says they will also be featuring midnight shows, “Every Saturday that we run. As the opening song goes, ‘At the late night, double feature picture show’ It is a little bit weird, wonderful and a out of the ordinary.”

Auditions are currently underway for the around 12 cast members needed for the production.

Marshall says, “While it is a non-traditional show, even though it has its cult following and it is very popular, we are taking a route of non-traditional casting as well. We are looking at just about everyone who is coming our way. Even those who have never shown interest in our previous musicals.”

He promises this show will be just a jump to the left, and a step to the right.

The show will run from October 31st to November 10th. Tickets will go on sale in September.
