Documentary On Moncton’s Homeless

A brand new documentary will give viewers a look inside Moncton’s homeless tent city.

The Film, called ‘Tent City’ was directed by local filmmaker Colleen Furlotte with John Maher and Ryan Wood.

Charlie Burrell, founder of The Humanity Project says Furlotte spent about 3 days conducting interviews.

He says she was inspired to create the documentary after doing some volunteering and wanted to raise awareness about those living in the tent city.

Burrell says many were very much willing to share their stories.

“Any videos that we’ve ever made in the past we’ve always blurred the peoples’ faces just because we wanted it to be about educating the public while maintaining human decency. For this project, they wanted their face shown, they wanted people know who they were and that they are members of their community,” says Burrell

He hopes the emotional documentary will sensitize others to the situation of homeless individuals.
