Three Arrests For Stealing From Vehicles

The Codiac Regional RCMP has arrested and charged an 18-year-old man and two male youths in connection with a number of recent thefts from vehicles.

Just before 3:30 a.m. yesterday, Codiac RCMP received a call of individuals who were checking vehicles in the Royal Road area of Moncton.

The three individuals, all from Moncton, were located and arrested at the scene. They appeared in court yesterday where they faced a number of charges.

Eighteen-year-old Matthew Collette is charged with violating a probation order and theft from a motor vehicle. He is scheduled to return to court on July 4 to enter a plea.

A 17-year-old youth is charged with violating a probation order, obstruction of a police officer and theft from a motor vehicle. He is being held for a bail hearing scheduled for June 10.

A 16-year-old youth is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, obstruction of a police officer and theft under $5,000. He was released and is scheduled to return to court on July 3 to enter a plea.

The investigation is ongoing.
