Large garage fire on Acadie Avenue in Dieppe

A garage and its contents in Dieppe have been destroyed by fire.

Dieppe Fire was called to Acadie Avenue just before 4 a.m. Tuesday, where they found a detached garage engulfed in flames.

“The quick actions of the initial arriving crew prevented the fire from spreading to the main residence,” Chief Marc Cormier says.

RCMP blocked Acadie Avenue for two hours while firefighters battled the blaze.

Twelve firefighters were on the scene to assist in bringing the fire under control.

The cause is still under investigation.
