Fire damages St. George Boulevard home

An elderly woman suffered injuries in a fire on St. George Boulevard near Sixth Street.

Moncton Fire Platoon Chief Brian McDonald says the fire was spotted on the home’s exterior when they arrived just after 11 pm Monday.

The woman was evacuated from the residence and treated at the scene.

Firefighters extinguished the flames quickly and remained on the scene for around an hour.

A cause is under investigation.

Ambulance New Brunswick, RCMP and NB Power were also on scene to assist.
