Car versus pole crash closes Coverdale Road

A collision between a car and a pole forced the closure of Coverdale Road for several hours on Friday.

Riverview Fire and Rescue Chief Robin True said it happened around 7:05 am. The pole and wires landed on the road.

A transformer was also attached, knocking out power to hundreds of residents.

One lane of Coverdale Road was reopened by 9:30 am. Both lanes were restored at around 11 am.

Chief True adds no one was hurt.
