Dieppe Man Charged After Numerous Thefts In Greater Moncton

A 39-year-old Dieppe man has been charged following a string of recent thefts from vehicles, homes and businesses in Greater Moncton.

In mid-March, Codiac RCMP stopped a vehicle on Paul Street after receiving word it had been stolen.

Officers also found items inside which had been reported stolen and a man was arrested.

A search warrant was later carried out at a home in Dieppe which uncovered more stolen items.

The man was released on conditions and issued a promise to appear in court at a later date.

However on March 28th, the man was re-arrested for breaching conditions of his release.

On March 29th in Moncton provincial court, Shawn Robert Leblanc of Dieppe was charged with break, enter and theft, theft under $5,000, mischief under $5,000, six counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, 18 counts of breaching conditions, as well as identity theft.

The man is being held in custody and returns to court next Wednesday, April 10th.
