Homes Damaged In Separate Fires In Moncton

Two fires yesterday kept Moncton firefighters busy.

The first broke out on the deck of a home on King Street, but Moncton firefighters managed to quickly extinguish the blaze.

Damage was contained to the deck, with minor smoke damage to the back of the home.

A second fire broke out in the afternoon in an Evergreen Drive home, in Moncton’s North end.


Canadian Red Cross says a woman and her three children who range in age between 5 and 15 have been displaced.They were provided with emergency lodging and food.

Moncton fire quickly got the fire out before it spread upstairs.

A teenaged boy was briefly treated at the scene by paramedics for minor smoke inhalation.

The basement of the bungalow has been extensively damaged.
