Atlantic Canadians looking for business at Seafood Expo

Seafood is the focus as hundreds of businesses from Atlantic Canada visit Boston, Mass., for North America’s largest seafood exposition.

Seafood Expo North America began Saturday and continues through Tuesday.

Global fish and seafood exports from Atlantic Canada topped $5.7 billion last year. Sixty-five per cent were destined for the United States.

Seafood is one of Atlantic Canada’s most important sectors and companies are attending the exposition to drum up even more business.

The seafood sector employs nearly 24,000 people in communities across the four Atlantic provinces.
