Sexual assault charges have been laid against a Canadian Armed Forces member serving at CFB Gagetown.
Corporal Daniel Gillis, of the 2nd Royal Canadian Regiment faces one charge of sexual assault.
The investigation began in August 16th, 2018 after a complaint was lodged regarding a possible sexual assault happening that morning at Camp Aldershot, in Nova Scotia.
The victim was interviewed the same day as the complaint, and was at the time a reservist with The Nova Scotia Highlanders.
On January 22nd of this year, an armed forces member was charged in relation to that August incident.
The matter will now proceed in the civilian justice system.
