Liberal MLA Says Francophone Games Cancellation Will Have Negative Impact on Greater Moncton

“Deplorable,” that’s how the Policy Advocate for La Francophonie describes how the Higgs government handled the decision to cancel the 2021 Francophonie Games.

Liberal MLA Monique Leblanc says instead of working to find a solution, Blaine Higgs has played the blaming game and walked away.

She believes this will have a negative impact on Greater Moncton’s economy and the development and career of athletes and artists, both Anglophone and Francophone.

Leblanc adds this is a diplomatic mistake that will damage New Brunswick’s reputation abroad.
