Bernier Seeks Support In Atlantic Canada

The federal election this year will have a new player, the People’s Party of Canada.

Leader Maxime Bernier brought his message to Saint John and Halifax last week.

Bernier says he met a woman in Regina who has never voted before because she didn’t believe in politicians.

“She told me “I am helping you to build your party in our province because I believe in what you are saying, you are doing politics differently.’ So there’s 30 per cent of Canadians that didn’t vote in the last federal election. It’s a huge market for us. If we have only half of that, it would be great.” Bernier said.

On reviving Energy East, Bernier says Ottawa killed the project and he hopes the private sector can continue with the project saying it will benefit New Brunswick, Quebec and the entire country.
