Around 25 people got a fresh start for the new year, with a cold cleanse in Palmers Pond.
This was the 26th annual Polar Dip held in Dorchester that raises money for the Dorchester Lions Club.
Spokesperson Dan Matthews says it is one of the only New Years Day dips that sees people jump from the ice on the Pond into the cold water.
Andy Partridge is a return jumper, and he rang in the new year, by taking the plunge for the 25th time.
