Two Monctonians To Receive Order Of Canada

Over 100 new appointees were named today to the Order of Canada, and that includes two people from Moncton.

Georges Henri Goguen is being recognized for his role as a pioneer of modern art in Acadia and for his dedication and promotion of visual arts.

Former premier Camille Henri Theriault is receiving the honour for his contributions as a parliamentarian in New Brunswick and his achievements in public governance.

The Order of Canada is presented by the Governor General and it honours individuals who help to shape society through service, ideas and compassion.

All of the recipients will be invited to attend a ceremony at a later date.
