Moncton Woman Charged With Attempted Murder In Stabbing

Codiac RCMP are investigating a stabbing that took place in the parking lot of the Sobeys on Vaughan Harvey Boulevard.

Sergeant Dan Poirier says yesterday evening, around 5:00 they were called after reports of an altercation between two women.

“One female was injured and brought to hospital, and [is] being treated presently,” says Poirier. “Another female was arrested and the investigation is still ongoing at this time.”

He did confirm the victim’s injury was caused by a knife.

Later Saturday afternoon, Codiac RCMP said the victim – a woman in her forties – was later released from hospital after treatment.

A 52-year old woman from Moncton was located at a residence in Moncton and arrested.

She is facing a charge of attempted murder.

Jeanne Pond was brought before a judge by tele-remand on Saturday, and her next court appearance is December 27th.
