Six Local Groups Benefit From Tri-Community Codiac RCMP Volunteers Generosity

The Greater Moncton SPCA is getting an early Christmas gift from the Tri-Community Codiac RCMP Volunteers.

SPCA Executive Director Dave Rogers says they were contacted a couple weeks ago by the volunteers group, who said they were reorganizing and had assets to dispose of.

“And one of those assets happens to be their van, it’s a 2013 cargo van, something we’ve been thinking we would like to have at the SPCA, and they came to us a few weeks ago and said how would you like to have ours?”

Rogers says the next step is doing the transfer paperwork which will allow the SPCA to have a “nice cargo van to transport animals around in.”

Rogers says this is especially timely as they do a number of adopt-a-thons with local pet stores.

Currently, they have to do several trips with their existing vehicle to get all the animals there, and this will greatly speed up the process by letting it all be done in one fell swoop.

The Tri-Community Codiac RCMP Volunteers also made donations to several other groups around the region.

Harvest House, House of Nazareth, and the Mobile Mental Health Crisis Team all got $10,000 each, while the Salvus Clinic and YMCA ReConnect (who run the Assomption Boulevard emergency shelter) each received $5,000 for a total donation value of $40,000.
