No One Hurt In House Fire In Wheaton Settlement

A home in the Scott Road area of Wheaton Settlement has been destroyed by fire.

Salisbury Fire Chief Bradley MacLeod says the large bungalow was fully engulfed when they arrived just before 5 pm Thursday afternoon.

The flames quickly spread to the nearby garage, which left it extensively damaged.

MacLeod says the residents smelled smoke and evacuated the home safely with their dog.

Firefighters were on scene for over two hours, then returned at around 9:30 pm last night after a flare-up.

Petitcodiac and Havelock fire departments assisted with the blaze.

There’s no word on a cause yet.
