Moncton man charged in break and enter

A 37-year-old Moncton man is facing charges in connection with a break-and-enter on Worthington Avenue.

The alleged crime was in progress when RCMP arrived on the scene on February 4.

Police say the suspect fled the scene, prompting a brief foot pursuit.

The man was arrested a short distance away. Police recovered credit cards that were previously reported as stolen during a separate break-and-enter.

He charged with:

  • Trespassing at night
  • Possession of break-in tools
  • Obstructing a police officer
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Possession of contraband tobacco
  • charges including trespassing, obstructing a police officer, and possession of break-in tools.

He’ll return to court on February 13.

“This incident serves as a reminder to always report suspicious behaviours or crimes in progress,” says Staff Sgt. Jonathan White of the Codiac Regional RCMP. “The quick response by our officers prevented further illegal activity by this individual.”
