N.B. to assist N.S. in snow cleanup

Cleanup continues in our neighbouring province on Tuesday.

With the amount of snow on the ground in Nova Scotia, Premier Tim Houston requested the help of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island for cleanup.

New Brunswick Premier Blaine Higgs has responded.

In a social media post, Higgs says he has reached out to Houston to offer any assistance needed during this time of recovery.

In a statement Tuesday afternoon, the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure said three crews with vehicles will be working in affected areas in northern regions of the province under the direct control of the provincial operations team.

Over 100 centimetres of snow fell in Cape Breton over the weekend, including 150 centimetres in Sydney, and the Halifax region saw around 40 centimetres.
