City of Moncton making approval changes as housing demand grows

The City of Moncton continues to review its development approval processes, to build more homes faster.

This comes as the demand for housing continues to grow.

It predicts by 2046, the population is projected to increase by 34,700 people (+43 per cent), requiring over 16,000 housing units.

City Council is considering several amendments to its planning by-laws, reducing the steps required to approve residential developments, while still ensuring they meet Zoning By-Laws and design standards.

An FAQ is available for those wanting to understand better what is being considered.
