Calendar Sales Raise Over $26,000 For Moncton Firefighters Burn Fund

If you didn’t purchase a copy of the 2019 Moncton firefighters calendar, you better hope that Santa puts one in your stocking, because they are officially sold out.

The Moncton firefighters put a calendar together every couple of years to raise money for charity.

Firefighter Joey Whalen says this year, 1000 calendars were printed, “The funds are going to the Moncton Firefighters burn fund. Those funds go to support the Burn Unit at the Moncton Hospital. It helps with medical supplies and training. It will also be used to send kids and Firefighters to the Atlantic Burn Camp in Cape Breton.”

A sold out gala was also held last month.

Whalen says there is a lot of hard work before the calendar is even put together, “The training that the crew put in for the calendar, it is hard to believe the fitness level that everyone has.

A cheque for over $26,000 will be presented in the beginning of 2019, to kick off the first month of the calendar.

Two years ago, they raised around $24,000 that was donated to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
