Generous Moncton Man ‘Isn’t Done Yet’

A Moncton man who recently made a very large donation of much needed items to the Humanity Project says he isn’t done yet.

Donald McHugh has been saving up to take a dream trip across the country but instead, he is using that money to help others.

McHugh wouldn’t reveal exactly how much he has spent so far, because he says there is so much more to give.

“The place needs to be upgraded, so I’m gonna work as hard as I can on that, more socks, more jackets, extra large jackets they need because they layer, to stay warm in the winter,” says McHugh. “So they wear two, three jackets, so we’re working on that for ’em.”

He says he isn’t done yet and hopes to encourage others to help in ways he can’t.

“They need more socks, I’d like to donate more time if I can get down there,” says McHugh. “Things they still need, for one that of course nobody is just going to drop off, is they need tradesmen, electricians, drywallers, […] and plumbers.”

McHugh says the volunteers working with the Humanity Project have been amazing, and are putting together a list of extra items that will be needed.
