An investigation is underway after a woman was found dead in a fire at 110 Joyce Avenue.
Moncton Fire Platoon Chief Rob Brine says crews arrived around 7:15am Wednesday morning to find light smoke coming from a two-storey townhouse unit.
The front door was locked and firefighters had to force their way in.
Brine says they made their way to the second floor where a woman’s body was found in the bathroom.
Fire investigator Charles LeBlanc says the fire was contained to the second floor and the neighbouring units were not affected.
The cause is under investigation.
