Life in Riverview is going to be more expensive next year, after Town Council finished deliberating on the 2019 budget.
The tax rate is increasing by 1 cent to 1.5926 per $100 of assessed value, while water and sewer rates are also climbing – by $22 annually.
A substantial increase in WorkSafe NB premiums is also expected to cost the Town an estimated $100,000 extra – accounting for two thirds of that tax hike.
There is some good news for the Town as preliminary numbers from Service New Brunswick project an overall tax base assessment increase of 1.78%, three times what was anticipated.
