Fatal crash in Saint-Léonard LSD

One person has died following a crash in Saint-Léonard LSD

RCMP say a car and a tractor-trailer collided on Highway 17 on Friday afternoon.

The driver of the car died at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer wasn’t physically hurt.

It’s believed the car crossed the centre line and collided head-on with the truck.

Members of the Saint-Léonard Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, the Department of Justice and Public Safety, and an RCMP collision reconstructionist also went to the scene.

A member of the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office is assisting with the ongoing investigation, and an autopsy will be conducted to positively identify the person and to determine the exact cause of death.
