PM names associate chief justice of the Court of King’s Bench

A judge born in the Acadian village of Balmoral has been appointed by the governor general to a new position.

Larry Landry becomes associate chief justice of the Court of King’s Bench.

His responsibilities include leadership and administration of the court and serving as a member of the Canadian Judicial Council.

Landry had previously been serving in the court’s trial division.

He was admitted to the Bar in 1992 and was appointed King’s Counsel in 2014.

Prior to being appointed to the Bench, he practiced civil litigation, as well as municipal, criminal, family and corporate law.
