Construction records shattered in Dieppe in 2023

Construction records have been broken once again in the City of Dieppe.

2023 isn’t even over yet, but over 500 permits, valued at almost $150 million have already been issued as of October 31.

That surpasses the record for 2022 of just over $119.4 million.

For residential, there were 387 permits issued for projects worth $99.3 million, and 120 commercial, industrial and institutional permits issued worth $50.6 million.

“Our recent housing needs assessment shows that between 3,500 and 4,400 new units will be required in Dieppe by 2033,” says Alexandre Girard, Director of Planning and Development. “To support the municipality’s growth, which is the result of well-planned development, we will continue to focus on taking measures that address our housing needs and issues effectively.”
