N.B. Premier says no election call in 2023

New Brunswick Premier Higgs has ended speculation about an election call.

He spoke with Reporters outside the Legislature in Fredericton on Friday.

“There’s not going to be any fall election. There won’t be any election in ’23. I guess that ends that speculation and we can move on,” Higgs stated.

Higgs admits it was considered though, “We were ready to pull the trigger, I have to say that, we were. It wasn’t an idle discussion, it was real.”

The next scheduled election for New Brunswick is on October 21, 2024.
